Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers in Boston is seeking a Residential Counselor to support youth in a trauma-informed setting. You will help create a safe, structured environment and work under supervision to implement treatment plans, teach life skills, and promote emotional and physical well-being for children and families.

The role requires evening and weekend hours, physical activity, de-escalation and safe restraint training as needed, and strong communication with staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with youth in a similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for clients.
• Counsel, observe, and provide behavioral training and support to children and families to facilitate reunification or long-term placement.
• Coordinate activities of daily living and supervise transitions between activities.
• Administer First Aid when needed and participate in age-appropriate life skills training.
• Complete all required paperwork including time sheets and incident reporting.
• Attend trainings and supervision meetings with supervisor.
