Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, is seeking a registered nurse for the weekend package. The role involves assessing patient needs, planning and directing care, and coordinating with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Iowa or multi-state license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in acute care preferred.
• Preferred professional certification in related clinical specialty.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet department needs.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented with minimal supervision.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required or within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and documents responses.
• Develops and implements the plan of care including discharge planning.
• Guides and directs patient care activities for the population.
• Provides daily direction to LPNs and Nursing Assistants.
• Provides learning opportunities and teaches patient/family as needed.
