Position Description

The Residential Assistant provides monitoring and oversight to ensure the health safety and well being of residents and the overall housing facility. Schedule Monday Friday 1200 am 800 am Overnight; 40 hours per week; This position is an essential position. The Residential Assistant works at Kirwan House located in NW Washington DC.

Required

• HSGED;
• 3 5 yrs experience in social services;
• experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment;

Preferred

• Associates Degree;
• 5 yrs experience in social services;
• experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment;

Expected Contributions

Resident Care & Program Operations Oversee house operations and ensure safe and efficient operations report any safety maintenance concernsProvide clients with support to maintain progress on treatment goalsPlan and facilitate client participation in meaningful activity both on site and in the community including recoveryFacilitate on site group meetings and provide coaching to residents to maintain recoveryMonitor and document medications taken by clientsProvide crisis management to clients as needed; document incidents according to policy and procedureMaintain client documentation and complete all shift communicationMonitor client whereabouts and activities; conduct regular checks of program environmentReview client appointments and communicate with treatment team as neededEnsure house chores are completedConduct drug screeningsPerform room inspectionsAssist with client programming as neededEnsure that household supplies are availablePerform various administrative taks as neededTransport clients as needed to meet program needsAssist in preparing meals as needed
