Job summary

The Children’s Museum of Manhattan is seeking an on-call Public Programs Fill-In Supervisor to support weekend and peak programming at the Upper West Side location. The role supervises Museum Educators, assists with setup, classroom-style activities, and guest interactions, ensuring a welcoming environment for families.

This part-time, per-diem position reports to the Public Programs Coordinator and involves collaboration on performances and workshops, with opportunities to engage young visitors

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in a supervisory role.
• Experience working in cultural organizations, museums, or educational settings.
• Proficiency with MS Office and scheduling software.
• Excellent judgment and discretion handling confidential matters.
• Ability to engage with children and adults in a welcoming manner.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the Public Programs team and events.
• Run workshops and performances with guest artists.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of family program spaces.
• Interact with museum visitors and guide them through activities.
• Document programs as needed.
