Job summary

Palomar Health in Escondido, CA invites an experienced Registered Nurse to join a Weekend Only Worker Program in the postpartum unit. This role focuses on delivering coordinated nursing care to mothers and newborns, with day-to-day supervision of clinical staff.

Shifts are 12 hours, with weekend differential and eligibility for full-time benefits. Candidates must meet California nurse standards and maintain high-quality family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum Experience: 1 year of directly related RN experience in postpartum care of the mother, immediate and ongoing care of the infant
• Preferred Experience: 2+ years of directly related RN experience in post partum care of the mother, immediate and ongoing care of the infant
• Required Certification: American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
• Preferred Certification: Not Applicable

Responsibilities

• Provide delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group within the postpartum unit.
• Manage day-to-day nursing and ancillary personnel activities with professional discretion.
• Coordinate plan of care with patient, family and interdisciplinary team.
• Comply with California Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Assist with observation and direction of patient lifting and mobilization.
