Job summary

Richardson International operates a large pasta production facility in New Hope, MN, and is seeking a skilled Controls Technician for weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday). The role focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs within a complex food manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in controls or industrial electrical work, reads electrical schematics, and is able to support production lines, packaging, and material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from accredited school.
• Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of controls, automation, or industrial electrical experience.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
• Support automation systems across production, packaging, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
• Maintain PLC and HMI program backups and documentation.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
