Job summary

Richardson International Limited’s New Hope, MN pasta facility seeks a Controls Technician for weekend shifts (Fri–Sun). The role focuses on PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and instrumentation with hands-on maintenance across production lines.

Strong reading of electrical schematics and manufacturing documentation is required. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in controls or industrial electrical work, an associate degree or equivalent experience, and the ability to work in a dynamic food manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Automation Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of controls, automation, or industrial electrical experience.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
• Support automation systems across production, packaging, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
• Maintain PLC and HMI program backups and documentation.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.

We currently have an opportunity for an Controls Technician – Food Manufacturing- Weekends (Friday-Sunday) at our New Hope, MNpasta production facility. We are offering a salary of $36.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
• Support automation systems across production, packaging, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities.

• Allen-Bradley PLC and FactoryTalk experience.
• Knowledge of industrial networking systems.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs. Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods. Work in hot, humid, cold, and dusty environments. Climb ladders and work from lifts at heights up to 35+ feet. Perform repetitive grasping, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
