Job summary

Shepherd Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic, compassionate patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes direct patient interaction, observation of patient conditions, and timely communication with the RN to respond to emergencies.

Weekend shifts are typical (three 12-hour shifts), and candidates should be able to perform duties such as assisting with meals, grooming, and restorative activities while maintaining HIPAA-compliant patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital or long-term care experience preferred.
• Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in collaboration with RN.
• Observe and communicate changes in patient conditions to the RN.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain patient safety, privacy, and dignity.
• Assist with meals, bathing, dressing and daily grooming.
• Document observations accurately and timely in patient records.
• Support staffing and onboarding activities as applicable.
