Job summary

Shepherd Center seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, ensuring safety and comfort. You will document observations and respond to changes in condition with clinical judgment.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, daily living activities, and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in a shared governance nursing environment. Experience in hospitals or long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital or long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and think critically.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal direct care for patients in collaboration with the RN.
• Observes and communicates changes in patient's condition to the RN and responds to emergencies.
• Assists with patient dining by serving meals and feeding.
• Instructs patients in self-care activities and daily living tasks.
• Maintains patient privacy, dignity, and HIPAA compliance.
