Job summary

Shepherd Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a hospital setting. You will assist with meals and daily living activities, observe patient conditions, and ensure privacy and safety per HIPAA guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and a proactive, patient-focused approach. A CNA is preferred, and prior hospital or long-term care experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• One year hospital or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care in collaboration with the RN.
• Observe and effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Assist with dining and feeding; help patients with daily living activities.
• Document observations clearly and timely in center systems.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance in all interactions.
• Participate in staff onboarding and ongoing competency assessments.
