Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Weekend option (Saturday & Sunday, 6pm-6:30am). Under supervision of a licensed nurse, you will provide safe, patient-centered care and support functions, communicate at handoffs, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ONE of the following is preferred: CNA or Health Support Professional program.
• Minimum of 2 years in a baccalaureate program or 1 year in an Associate's Degree in Nursing program, or comparable education.
• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse and Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
• Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of patient care.
• Communicate with patients, families, and co-workers at handoffs and as needed.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain a clean, organized environment.
