Job summary

City of St. Pete Beach is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to uphold parking regulations and ensure pay stations function properly. The position reports to the Code Enforcement Manager and requires weekend availability as part of a rotating schedule.

You will patrol designated areas, issue citations with handheld devices, and maintain accurate documentation while delivering courteous public service. This role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather.
• Self-motivated and organized, able to work independently.
• Experience in municipal parking enforcement or customer service preferred.
• Familiarity with handheld citation equipment and pay station technology preferred.
• Training in conflict de-escalation or public engagement desirable.
• Must be available to work Friday–Sunday 11:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas to monitor compliance with local parking ordinances.
• Issue citations for observed violations using handheld devices.
• Document violations accurately per city procedures.
• Provide clear, courteous information on policies, meter use, and appeals.
• Assist drivers with parking-related concerns professionally.
• Maintain daily logs of enforcement activity and pay station status.
• Report issues to the Department Manager and manage shift requirements.
