Job summary

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is seeking an Overnight Support Services Associate I for weekend hours at the Women & Children's Shelter. You will help maintain facility safety, order, and cleanliness, and provide backup support to other staff during overnight shifts.

Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, safety assessments, reports, and administrative duties. You may assist Breathalyzer tests and urine screens as needed, with a focus on serving a faith-based community and homeless guests.

Qualifications

• Acknowledge and sign the Mission's Statement of Faith.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Staying awake during overnight hours is required.
• Customer Services experience is highly preferred.
• Previous janitorial experience is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties, including duties left over from a different shift.
• Assess and record safety hazards and maintenance needs.
• Conduct builds-wide interior checks and record evening report in staff log.
• Handle issues that may arise with individuals during overnight shift.
• Perform occasional room checks or searches as needed.
• Respond to emergency calls on overnight phone.
• Assist with administrative duties.
• Backup Guest Services by performing Breathalyzer tests and Urine Analysis drug screens.
• Handle office telephones and monitor incoming people.
• Record and organize messages for clients and staff.
• Provide referrals for callers when necessary.
• Participate in organizational meetings, training, and initiatives.
• Perform other duties to support Mission’s success.
