Job summary

Shelter House in Fairfax, VA is seeking a part-time Residential Coordinator for weekend overnight shifts (12am-8am) to provide 24-hour awake supervision, act as lead on shift, address client needs, and maintain a safe living environment within the Katherine Hanley Family Shelter.

You will work with case managers, document interactions, assist with medication delivery, and participate in staff training while upholding the organization’s core values and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience in human services (e.g., housing, homelessness, domestic violence).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills; ability to work with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential 24‑hour awake coverage and supervision on shift.
• Act as first point of contact for client needs and crisis intervention.
• Document interactions, maintain daily logs, and support case managers.
• Assist with medication administration and safety procedures.
• Support fundraising, donor relations, and volunteer programs as needed.
• Ensure safety, confidentiality, and compliance with agency policies.
