Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Sr Patient Access Associate for weekend overnights in the Emergency Department. This front-line, patient-facing role handles scheduling, registrations, insurance verification, and cash handling, while maintaining professionalism in high-volume, time-sensitive environments.

Training is required before transitioning to the regular schedule, with a Friday night and Saturday shift pattern and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years customer service experience required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner required.
• Multi-tasking and problem solving abilities required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with detail orientation required.
• Ability to type 35 wpm with 95% accuracy required.
• BLS certification within six months of hire from an AHA-endorsed program is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and create/verify accounts to optimize cash flow.
• Complete scheduling confirmation, pre-registration/pre-admission, registration/admission, and insurance verification.
• Receipting of payments and patient way finding/escorting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in all processes.
• Provide coverage across departments, including the emergency department, 24/7.
