Job summary

HOUSING ADVOCACY VOCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT (HAVE) in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a weekend overnight shift (Fri–Sun, 8PM–8AM). You will provide direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, support daily living activities, and document progress per individualized plans.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), and ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities during overnight shifts
• Assist residents with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility
• Monitor and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals throughout the shift
• Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately
• Respond to behavioral or medical situations calmly and appropriately, following established protocols
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential environment
• Communicate effectively with team members during shift transitions and handoffs
