Job summary

The Barrington of Carmel (A BHI Community) seeks an Overnight Concierge & Security to provide a warm, secure, around-the-clock presence for residents. You will manage the front desk, respond to inquiries, and uphold safety protocols in a gracious, professional manner.

With a High School Diploma and experience in receptionist roles, you will monitor access, perform rounds, handle emergencies, and support life-safety activities while delivering outstanding customer service in a senior living

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in receptionist, call-center, or administrative role preferred.
• Demonstrated calm, dependable judgment in emergencies.
• Clear, respectful, professional communication with residents and staff.
• Comfort with basic computer systems and security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary overnight contact for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Manage Concierge Desk, answer main phone line, respond to requests.
• Respond to call lights, assist residents, escalate as needed.
• Perform overnight security rounds and monitor security equipment.
• Control after-hours access and secure doors per procedures.
• Respond to alarms and coordinate with emergency personnel.
• Receive overnight deliveries and manage storage and distribution.
• Complete security/incident reports and assist with records.
• Support life-safety drills and QA activities as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, secure work environment and provide courteous service.
• Weekend shift: Saturday and Sunday 11pm-7am.

In This Role You Will:

• Serve as the primary point of contact during the overnight shift, supporting residents, visitors, and team members while helping maintain a safe and secure community.
• Provide a warm and welcoming presence at the Concierge Desk, answer the main telephone line, and respond to questions and requests.
• Respond promptly to Independent Living call lights and assist residents with their needs or concerns, escalating when additional assistance is needed.
• Complete routine security rounds throughout the community, including buildings, grounds, and resident areas, and monitor activity using available security equipment.
• Manage after-hours entry and exits, secure doors and access points, and follow established visitor and security procedures.
• Respond to alarms, emergency calls, and unusual or suspicious activity while coordinating access for emergency personnel when needed.
• Accept overnight deliveries and ensure supplies are properly distributed and stored within the community.
• Complete accurate security, incident, and other required reports while assisting with record maintenance.
• Assist with overnight in-services, audits, staff communication, life safety drills, and other quality assurance activities as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment while providing courteous, professional service to residents, families, visitors, and team members.
• Saturday & Sunday 11pm-7am

Who You Are:

• You have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of receptionist, call-center, or administrative experience.
• You are calm, dependable, and able to use good judgment when handling unexpected or emergency situations.
• You communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with residents, visitors, team members, and emergency personnel.
• You are detail-oriented and able to prioritize responsibilities while working independently overnight.
• You are comfortable learning and using basic computer systems, security software, surveillance equipment, and other technology.
• You enjoy providing excellent customer service and creating a friendly, welcoming experience for residents and guests.
• You are comfortable walking throughout the community and grounds as part of routine security rounds.
• Preferred: First Aid and/or CPR certification.
