Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Technician I for weekend overnight shifts to provide direct and supportive care to clients in a compassionate environment.

You will monitor safety and health indicators, assist with activities of daily living, document observations, respond to crises, and support treatment planning and recovery skills as part of the clinical team.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent with two years of responsible employment.
• Experience in Human Services or related field preferred.
• For St. Louis County Programs: Bachelor’s Degree or MAADC I or II.
• For Residential Care Facility: Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) credential and insulin certification within 90 days.
• Background checks including criminal, driving, and abuse/neglect checks required.
• First Aid and CPR certification within three months of starting.
• Must be 21+ to operate company-owned vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight and support to clients/patients, ensuring safety and well-being throughout daily activities.
• Monitor vital signs and health indicators; escalate to medical intervention as necessary.
• Facilitate group education and structured activities, promoting engagement and recovery skills.
• Document and report exceptional behaviors or concerns related to clients/patients.
• Assist clients/patients with personal care needs (grooming, bathing, dressing) when required.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and monitor self-administration of medications.
• Participate as an active member of the treatment team to identify client strengths and needs.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including medication storage and documentation.
• Provide transportation for clients/patients to appointments as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as requested by supervisors.
