Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Registered Nurse - OR for the Operating Room in Lexington, KY. This full-time role includes a weekend shift with on-call requirements, providing specialized nursing care before, during, and after surgery in a busy OR suite.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, planning and delivering direct care, supervising staff, and contributing to a safe healing environment.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited College/university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Support for quality care.
• Customer relations and healing environment.
• On call requirement weekends/holidays picked by rotation.
• Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
• Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
• Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.
