Job summary

Jewish Home Family is seeking a Part-time RN Supervisor for every other weekend 3:00pm-11:30pm shift in New Jersey. The role supervises daily nursing activities, ensures adherence to regulatory standards, and supports policy implementation across the nursing service department.

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or RN program graduate.
• Minimum 4 years of experience working in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities during tour of duty in accordance with standards and regulations.
• Assist in directing nursing function day-to-day in the long-term care facility.
• Develop, maintain and update written policies and procedures for the nursing service department.
• Ensure staff comply with Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to Director regarding nursing service operations.
• Coordinate nursing services with Resident services to maintain continuity of care.
• Support the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing department.
• Attend committee meetings as required to plan services and activities.
• Develop agendas for Care Plan Committee meetings as necessary.
• Delegate duties to Charge Nurses ensuring authority and accountability.
• Review complaints from department personnel and identify problem areas for improvement.
• Review nurses’ notes for accuracy and completeness of care records.
• Keep Director informed with written/oral status reports.
• Assist in in-service training program development to meet continuing education requirements for licensed personnel.
• Identify and monitor infection control measures and exposure risks.
• Participate in infection control program development and monitoring.
• Ensure safe operation of nursing service equipment.
• Develop assessments and written care plans for Residents.
