Job summary

Onyx Health Consulting seeks an experienced Nursing Supervisor to assist the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day nursing department functions. The role ensures high-quality clinical care aligned with state regulations and facility guidelines.

Responsibilities include supervising care planning, resident assessments, rounds, direct patient care, and effective communication across shifts.

Qualifications

• Active RN/LPN nursing license required.
• Current registration and license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state employed in.
• Peripheral IV certification.
• Minimum 5+ years nursing experience in a hospital, nursing home or other healthcare setting and a minimum 1-year experience as a nurse supervisor.
• CPR/BLS certified.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices and relevant laws/regulations.
• English language reading/writing/speaking required; other languages helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervises clinical care planning and delivery to ensure coordinated quality patient care.
• Assesses residents upon admission and as conditions change.
• Performs rounds to evaluate patient condition.
• Provides or assists with direct patient care, including ADLs, meals, meds, treatments, and activities.
• Receives and implements Physician Orders with accuracy.
• Communicates changes in patient conditions between shifts.
• Maintains safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Provides clinical assessment to MD/NPs on call for outcomes.
• Plans and evaluates staff clinical competencies and ongoing education.
• Participates in facility surveys by government agencies as requested.
• Contributes to discharge planning for residents.
