Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and active RN license in state of employment.
• Minimum two years clinical nursing experience; management experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certified and IV certification.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; able to supervise nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily delivery of nursing care and staff performance.
• Plan and conduct shift staff meetings to identify problems and improve services.
• Identify problems in care delivery and implement corrective action.
• Provide written and oral reports to Director of Nursing as needed.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Begin investigations of accidents with staff interviews and data gathering.
• Interpret policies to personnel, residents, visitors and agencies as required.
• Ensure confidentiality of resident information.
• Develop work assignments and delegate administrative authority to Charge Nurses.
• Perform daily rounds at beginning and end of shifts.
• Address complaints from residents, families or staff and report to DON.
• Report suspected abuse to Director of Nursing.
• Ensure emergency equipment/supply checks each shift.
• Maintain safe, clean resident environment.
• Participate in orientation for new staff and ongoing training.
• Complete performance evaluations and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with dress code and nursing procedures.
