Job summary

Unitek Learning in Bakersfield, CA seeks a VN Instructor to teach on Saturdays and Sundays from 6am–7pm, with a one-hour lunch. The role requires RN or LVN licensure and clinical teaching capability, plus ongoing CE hours to maintain licensure.

The position offers weekend teaching across lecture and clinical rotations, with opportunities for professional development and participation in program committees as needed.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN with current state licensure and teaching eligibility.
• Minimum 3 years bedside nursing with BSN or 6+ years with LVN degree.
• Meet the Board of Vocational Nursing faculty requirements.
• Current immunizations and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of instruction using diverse teaching methods.
• Utilize online activities to enhance course content.
• Review and revise syllabus for courses within program guidelines.
• Submit required program reports to Director in a timely manner.
• Maintain student records: attendance, grades, skills check-off, and data collection.
• Update and maintain student files related to clinical requirements and immunizations.
• Teach courses at various times/locations as needed; include lecture and clinical rotations.
• Participate in professional development and stay current with college updates.
• Participate in committees as assigned when teaching duties allow.
