Job summary

The Awake Night Staff at The Settlement Home for Children in Austin provides a safe, structured, overnight environment to support youth with trauma histories while helping implement individualized care plans and guiding residents through nighttime routines.

Role emphasizes trauma-informed care, professional presence, and documentation of nightly observations. Schedule includes Friday and Saturday nights (11p–9a) with a 20-hour workweek in a residential setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and TB test.
• Background check must be clear of offenses
• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise conduct of youth and ensure they follow rules and schedule.
• Enforce cottage rules, routines, and know residents' whereabouts.
• Maintain cleanliness of cottage and individual spaces.
• Document cottage life, incidents, daily behavior, medical needs, and treatment observations.
