Job summary

WellStone in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time night shift on Saturdays and Sundays, 7:30pm–7:30am. Responsibilities include vital signs, discharge planning, medication monitoring, and overseeing a Behavioral Aide within a 16-bed locked facility.

Requirements include an active Alabama LPN license, 2+ years nursing experience preferred, strong communication skills, and CPR/SAMA certification or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Active Alabama LPN license.
• 2+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• CPR and SAMA certification or ability to obtain.
• Strong observation skills with patient safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and monitor patients in a locked facility.
• Prepare discharge planning and care coordination.
• Oversee Behavioral Aide supporting Basic Living Skills.
• Collect patient information and monitor symptoms and changes.
• Assess medication effects and adverse reactions.
• Administer injections and document in EMR.
• Interface with labs and ensure training is up to date.
• Maintain documentation and participate in staff meetings.
