Qualifications

• Knowledge of security and/or law enforcement measures and techniques typically gained in 6–12 months of on-the-job training or related college coursework in Administration of Justice.
• Ability to de-escalate agitated individuals and maintain safety in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated capacity to work with staff, visitors and patients to promote a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• De-escalates agitated patients, individually and as part of a team.
• Prevents potentially risky and/or violent situations.
• Maintain professional image and contribute to positive hospital community relations.
