Job summary

Mid Valley Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to provide a safe environment across hospital facilities and clinics. You will patrol campuses, respond to emergencies, monitor CCTV, and assist staff with escalated incidents while upholding confidentiality and professional conduct.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and BLS/IAHSS certifications within stated timeframes; prior security experience and bilingual skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Risk Management.
• Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• MOAB training within 6 months of hire.
• IAHSS Basic Security certification within 6 months of hire.
• Two years of prior safety and/or security experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical presence and support to maintain a safe environment at MVHC facilities and property.
• Respond to security and safety needs, monitor CCTV, and assist staff with emergencies and safety concerns.
• Conduct rounds to identify hazards, verify identifications, enforce security rules, and prevent unauthorized access.
• Use de-escalation and clinical skills to manage disruptive individuals and provide patient safety support.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and report activities with proper documentation.
• Attend training and participate in department performance improvement activities.
