Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Step-Down Unit. The role involves delivering high-quality nursing care on a 24-bed unit, with EPIC documentation and real-time monitoring.

Weekend night shifts (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) are required, with a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation support for qualified candidates. All Direct Care RNs must have an RN degree, Virginia RN license, and complete BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• RN degree required and active Virginia RN license.
• BLS must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Prior RN experience preferred for weekend night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Monitor patient status, coordinate with the care team and teach health promotion.
• Document care in EPIC and ensure compliance with standards and policies.
