Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton is seeking a Per Diem Night Phlebotomist to collect venous and capillary blood samples, perform EKGs, and document results accurately. You will work under supervision and cover alternating weekends and holidays.

The role requires phlebotomy proficiency, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced hospital lab. Per diem shifts include nights and on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree credits in clinical lab science preferred.
• 1 year of lab experience including phlebotomy and EKG preferred.
• Nationally recognized certification such as ASCP or NCA equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately follow physician orders when selecting tests in the Laboratory system.
• Independently obtain venous blood and ensure patient identification.
• Perform phlebotomy and, when needed, outpatients EKGs with accuracy.
• Prepare and label specimens; transport to the laboratory per policy.
• Maintain supplies and assist with training of new staff as directed.
