Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton is seeking a Phlebotomist for weekend and evening shifts on a per diem basis. You will accurately obtain venous or capillary blood specimens, perform EKGs, and document all necessary information while following hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting including phlebotomy and EKG.
• Degree or credits in clinical laboratory science.
• ASCP or NCA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently obtain venous blood specimens from patients following orders.
• Perform EKGs on outpatients and document results.
• Accurately document patient demographics and test orders in the system.
• Prepare specimens and store at appropriate temperatures as required.
• Maintain supplies, assist with training, and keep areas neat and safe.
• Communicate results and questions to the care team and answer calls per policy.
