Hearst Television's WMTW in Westbrook, Maine is seeking a Weekend Anchor/Reporter who brings energy to our anchor desk, reports live on big stories, and develops exclusive enterprise content. The role requires versatility, credibility, and strong on-air presence.

You will write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind, mentor reporters, and work under tight deadlines with excellent live reporting skills. A valid driver's license and ethical standards are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of anchor experience required.
• 2+ years of reporting experience required.
• Demo reel demonstrates everyday work.
• Anchor must connect with viewers and handle live reporting.
• Ability to work in all weather, with varied shifts including overnights and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards.
• Military experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
• Work with and guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
• Plan, gathers and assembles stories on day-of news or special project assignments.
• Coordinate with news managers and producers to develop stories with exclusive content.
• Develop a network of sources for tips and early information to break stories of significance.
• Appear on behalf of the station at public events.
• Contribute pictures, video and text updates to mobile platforms throughout the day.
• Work on multiple stories and projects, meeting all deadlines.
• Summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
