Job summary

Hearst Television Inc. in South Burlington, VT, seeks a Weekend Anchor Reporter who can bring energy to the anchor desk, enterprise exclusives, and deliver live shots.

You will write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind, mentor producers and reporters, and work under tight deadlines across day-of news and special projects. This on-site role requires 1+ years of anchor or reporting experience, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to handle fast-paced, time-sensitive

Qualifications

• 1+ years of anchor and/or reporting experience required.
• Ability to deliver live, credible reporting with poise under deadline.
• Demonstrated journalistic integrity and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism and purpose.
• Guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
• Plan and assemble stories on day-of news or special projects.
• Develop exclusive enterprise stories with unique angles.
• Build a network of sources for tips and early access.
• Appear at public events on behalf of the station.
• Contribute video, pictures and updates to mobile platforms throughout the day.
• Meet deadlines while handling multiple stories.
