Job summary

Always Best Care of Fairfax is seeking an experienced CNA/PCA to support a hip surgery recovery client in Fairfax, VA. The role focuses on morning wake-up, personal care, mobility, safe transfers, and fall prevention in a home-like setting within an assisted living community.

The ideal candidate will have Virginia CNA licensure (preferred) or strong PCA experience, and demonstrate compassion, reliability, and observant care during weekend mornings.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in Virginia preferred.
• Experience supporting clients post-surgery, rehabilitation, or hospitalization preferred.
• Strong understanding of transfer safety and fall prevention.
• Experience assisting clients with mobility limitations.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with morning wake-up and start-of-day routines.
• Provide personal care: grooming, dressing, hygiene support.
• Ensure safe transfers and mobility throughout the morning.
• Assist with toileting and bathroom safety as needed.
• Prepare or assist with a light breakfast and hydration.
• Encourage safe activity and promote independence when possible.
• Maintain a safe environment and monitor fall risks.
• Communicate observations and concerns to family and care management.
