Job summary

Arch Home Care in Northern Virginia is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide compassionate care in clients' homes. The role offers weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) and requires strong customer service, reliability, and ability to follow care plans.

Responsibilities include bathing, grooming, mobility assistance, meal prep, companionship, light housekeeping, and reporting changes to supervisors. A PCA certification is preferred; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Current PCA certification preferred or required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Compassionate, patient and dependable.
• Ability to follow a care plan and work independently.
• Basic computer and telephone skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Provide toileting assistance and incontinence care as needed.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
• Prepare meals and snacks according to client needs and instructions.
• Assist with special diets when required.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Laundry and changing bed linens; vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping; keep living areas clean.
• Follow client-specific care plans and report changes to supervisor.
