WMTV 15 News in Madison is hiring a weekend MMJ to join our award-winning newsroom. If you love owning the story when the town is watching, this TV-first role combines shooting, writing and editing original news packages for broadcast and digital platforms.

Lead weekends, manage tight deadlines, and develop sources across the Capitol and southern Wisconsin. You should be a visual storyteller who thrives on breaking news, can deliver social content in real time, and be ready to carry 35+ pounds

Qualifications

Journalism degree preferred but not required; experience and demonstrated skill matter most.
Must be able to carry 35+ pounds of gear and be experienced in shooting and editing.
Weekend availability required; can include combination of dayside and nightside shifts with overtime for breaking news.

Responsibilities

Own the story: Shoot, write, edit, and present original news packages and live reports.
Think multi-platform: Gather content with what works on social and digital in mind, not just on air.
File in real time: Deliver daily social content including vertical videos from the field.
Build your beat: Develop and maintain sources across the Madison market and southern Wisconsin.
Spark ideas: Contribute story ideas daily that serve our broadcast AND digital audiences.
