Job summary

WMTV is looking for a high-energy, digital-first Newscast Producer to join our award-winning team in Madison, Wisconsin. You will own evening newscasts on-air or streaming, lead a streaming show, and help across the week as a utility player. Hands-on training and career mobility through Gray Media await you.

As a newer contributor, you will write for TV and digital, coordinate with the News Director and Executive Producer, and help execute a digital-first strategy that serves our community.

Qualifications

• Digital-first mindset and ability to switch between TV rundowns, CMS, social and streaming tools.
• Urgent and impactful writing with AP Style.
• Strong news judgment for Madison-area news.
• Ability to work under deadline with calm under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and take feedback.
• College degree in journalism preferred; 1+ years newsroom or digital producing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own breaking news: push alerts, live streams, updates.
• Drive the News Now Desk: manage live feeds and real-time updates across TV, web, apps, and social.
• Write scripts for TV and digital content in AP Style.
• Assist as Associate producer when needed with photographer video and feeds.
• Collaborate with News Director and Executive Producer to execute digital-first strategy.
