Job summary

Prairie State Energy Campus is seeking a Weekend Mine Supervisor to oversee underground mining activities during weekend operations and designated weekdays. You will serve as the acting Mine Manager on shift, coordinating manpower, production, and safety leadership for assigned crews.

The role requires strong leadership, safety discipline, and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure. Base pay ranges with incentives reflect a demanding underground environment and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in an underground coal mining environment.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ Section Supervisor experience or four (4) years’ leadership/lead role.
• Previous experience as Section Supervisor, Assistant Shift Manager, or Shift Manager strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Mine Manager on shift during weekend operations and sign official records as required.
• Coordinate and monitor underground mining activities to meet production requirements safely and efficiently.
• Review daily mining plans and adjust workforce assignments to meet objectives.
• Direct labor needs for shifts and place qualified employees in appropriate assignments.
• Conduct routine inspections of underground sections, monitor production, ventilation, and safety compliance.
