Job summary

Prairie State Energy Campus is seeking a Mine Training Specialist to develop and deliver Part 48 training for underground and surface miners. You will coordinate annual refresher and regulatory programs, maintain training records, and work with regulators to ensure safety and compliance.

Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and underground coal mining is essential. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years in underground mining supervision, a valid MSHA Instructor certification, and

Qualifications

• BS preferred in mining, engineering, safety, or education, or significant underground mining experience.
• HS diploma or GED required with strong safety training background.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in underground coal mining with safety responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, conduct, and document Part 48 training for surface and underground miners.
• Schedule and ensure completion of annual refresher and mandated regulatory training.
• Maintain training records, certifications, and LMS data for compliance.
• Provide classroom, field, and hands-on training and evaluate learner competency.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, management, and external instructors.
• Assist with onboarding and safety training for new hires.
