Johnson Controls, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Fitter Welder Apprentice for the weekend shift (Friday–Sunday) from 5:00 am to 5:30 pm.

This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in fit-up, fabrication and welding under experienced mentors in a manufacturing setting. You will work with blueprints, operate MIG welding equipment, and contribute to safety, quality, and continuous improvement through 5S and Kaizen.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Operate MIG/GMAW welding processes and related equipment.
• Maintain safety, quality and productivity in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform fit up, fabrication and core welding to vendors and managers per Johnson Controls guidelines.
• Operate welding equipment, including MIG gun and plasma cutter, to fuse metal.
• Read blueprints, review specifications, and ensure drawings meet intended use.
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation; participate in Kaizen and 5S initiatives.
• Support training programs and uphold safety policies and procedures.
