Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Weekend Shift Brazer to support brazing, fit-up, and fabrication processes in our manufacturing facility. You will work Friday to Sunday, 5:00 am to 5:30 pm, and earn $18.50–$20.25 hourly plus shift premium.

You will read blueprints, set up brazing equipment, perform brazing, inspect joints, maintain safety and 5S, and document tasks. A high school diploma and ability to pass brazing tests are required; experience with AutoCAD drawings is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or certifications.
• Ability to pass brazing tests on metals including stainless steel, copper, brass.
• Experience with metalworking machinery and hand tools.
• Ability to read AutoCAD drawings, blueprints and work orders.
• Strong safety, quality, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Fit up, fabricate and braze to standard models.
• Position parts in jigs, clamp securely for brazing.
• Select and prepare brazing equipment and gases per material specs.
• Set up regulators and torch, adjust flame and gas mix.
• Guide torch along joints to form strong metal joints.
• Inspect braze joints for leaks and perform repairs as needed.
• Read blueprints and specifications to ensure proper function.
• Maintain safety, 5S practices and documentation of tasks.
