Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree or college courses preferred in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development.
• CPR certification preferred for the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within a multidiscipline team approach.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Maintain accurate and complete data and records.
• Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper HWC technique.
• Therapeutically communicate with patients. Assist in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.
• Directs/redirects behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Responds to impulsivity issues as they relate to age specific criteria.
• Recognize and communicate the physical and psychological status of the patients under their care.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Education
