Universal Health Services in Memphis seeks a Mental Health Technician (MHT) PRN with weekend availability. The MHT supports a multidisciplinary team, delivering direct patient care, maintaining a therapeutic environment, and assisting in behavioral interventions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree or college courses preferred in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development.
• CPR certification preferred for the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within a multidiscipline team approach.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Maintain accurate and complete data and records.
• Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper HWC technique.
• Therapeutically communicate with patients. Assist in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.
• Directs/redirects behaviors, demonstrating appropriate behavioral consequences. Responds to impulsivity issues as they relate to age specific criteria.
• Recognize and communicate the physical and psychological status of the patients under their care.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Compass Intervention Center is seeking a Mental Health Tech - PRN with weekend availability preferred. The MHTs play a vital role in providing excellent care for our patients and are a member of the interdisciplinary team who assists in total client care through implementation of appropriate therapeutic approaches.

• Provide direct patient care within a multidiscipline team approach.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Maintain accurate and complete data and records.
• Intervenes with suicidal gestures, inappropriate behaviors, elopements, etc., using proper HWC technique.
• Therapeutically communicate with patients. Assists in developing appropriate boundaries and helps to develop social skills.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Education and Training: High School diploma or equivalent, Prefer bachelor's degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth and development.
• Licensure and/or Certification: CPR certification
• Experience: No minimum required, Prefer one year's experience as a nurse's aide, mental health aide, psych aide, or the equivalent in a rehabilitation, psychiatric, or similar setting.
• Physical/General: Sustain physical activity and remain on feet throughout scheduled shift. Lifting requirements are 50 lbs and SAMA training is required.
