Job summary

North Houston Transitional Care is seeking a Double Weekend Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under nursing supervision and physician orders. You will follow established policies, document accurately, and collaborate with the medical team to ensure resident safety.

Required are a high school diploma and state licensure as a Medication Aide, with a focus on accurate documentation, patient privacy, and teamwork in a busy care environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, interpret, and follow general policies and procedures.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and documentation.
• Strong attention to medication safety and accuracy.
• Familiarity with basic math for measurements and dosing.
• Ability to collaborate with nurses, physicians, and pharmacists.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as ordered and per facility policies.
• Note and report medication administration errors.
• Develop and participate in procedures to reduce medication errors.
• Complete required forms, charts, and reports.
• Maintain professional relations with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Report complaints or concerns to Nursing Leadership.
• Participate in quality assurance and medication-related committees.
• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document medications.
• Verify medication supplies and labeling; ensure proper storage and disposal.
