Job summary

UW Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Weekender - Generalist for University Hospital in Madison, WI. The role is part-time (0.60 FTE) with shifts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:30AM to 3:30PM.

You may be eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus and an $8.00 per hour weekend differential in addition to the base pay. Responsibilities include performing testing, QC, phlebotomy, and specimen processing while maintaining patient safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required.
• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or related field preferred.
• 1 year experience in medical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and verify patient testing, proficiency testing and QC; troubleshoot as needed.
• Demonstrate decision-making, work independently, and assist with teaching/training as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and process specimens for testing/transport; provide patient instructions.
