Job summary

MedSpeed in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Medical Driver for weekend shifts (Saturday-Sunday, 2:00pm-10:30pm) with premium pay after 10pm and for weekend hours. You will transport lab specimens, medical records, and related materials in a company vehicle, using a handheld scanner and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be 19+ with an active driver’s license for 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with technology.
• Ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Must pass drug & alcohol screen.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving and transporting lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail and related materials.
• Operate a hand-held scanning device to track items through the transportation cycle.
• Observe operating policies, procedures and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public.
• Load and unload company vehicles with appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean vehicle.
• Route duties vary based on client and business needs across all routes.
