Job summary

Univertical LLC in Angola, Indiana, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a Friday–Sunday 5:00 AM–5:00 PM shift, plus Monday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Starting pay is $29.00/hr with higher rates based on experience.

Direct hire onto Univertical’s maintenance crew, not a contractor, with weekend bonus opportunities. The role involves troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems, performing preventive and reactive maintenance, and supporting fabrication needs.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Multi‑craft background: mechanical and electrical work, hydraulics and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of control voltage (0-24V), 110-240V single phase, 480V three‑phase.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certs a plus.
• Own hand tools required.
• Strong communication and team‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on mills, lathes, welding equipment, rolling mill, furnaces, and related tooling.
• Install, adjust, align motors, pumps, conveyors, piping, and valves; swap failed motors for repair/replacement.
• Work with electrical systems up to 480V three‑phase, including panels and control circuits, with safety focus.
• Support fabrication needs—welding, cutting, grinding—alongside fabricators.
• Clear communication across shifts; document repairs and notify production/supervisors as needed.
• Make sound on‑the‑spot judgments to fix issues and keep lines running, including off hours.
• Follow safety, PPE, lockout/tagout, and chemical handling procedures.
