Fox News Live in Washington, DC is seeking a talented Freelance Production Assistant to join our weekend team, helping bring live news to air by cutting and editing video and selecting soundbites for broadcasts.

You’ll collaborate with producers, writers and editors in a fast-paced control room where speed and accuracy are critical, and you’ll perform quality control to ensure every element is ready for air.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in television news or live production.
• Experience with non-linear editing software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and other hours as news coverage requires.

Responsibilities

• Cut and edit video, soundbites, and other visual elements for live broadcasts.
• Collaborate with line producers and writers to identify strongest elements.
• Edit and turn around breaking news video quickly.
• Work closely with editors to ensure all elements are organized and delivered on deadline.
• Perform thorough quality control on every video element before it airs.
