Fox News Channel is seeking a Freelance Production Assistant for The Big Weekend Show. The role is onsite in New York, with a Wednesday–Sunday schedule.

You will thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, edit videos and graphics, and support producers with leads, teases, segments, and live control room tasks. The ideal candidate has a journalism background, newsroom experience, and a passion for politics, current events, and pop culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience using Dalet.
• Familiarity with iNews, VIZ, and program rundowns.
• Broadcast news experience.
• Passion for political news, current events, and pop culture.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Solid news and editorial judgment, especially during breaking news.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit compelling videos and graphics.
• Assist producers with leads, teases, and segments including VO/SOT selection and cutting.
• Coordinate reporter hits.
• Help manage and oversee graphic elements during the show in the control room during live broadcast.
• Pitch stories for the day’s news and future segments.
• Book guests during breaking news situations.
• Learn to compile research packets and produce segments.
