Job summary

Fox News Media in Washington, DC is seeking a Freelance Transmission Operator to support on-air programming and ensure high-quality live coverage. The role requires coordinating with control rooms, satellite and field teams, and adapting to a fast-paced breaking-news environment.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot live video and audio feeds, prep in-studio guests, and record feeds from around the world while maintaining weekend and overnight availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Solid working knowledge of HD quality-control equipment.
• Ability to read scopes.
• Experience identifying and troubleshooting audio and video issues involving satellite and fiber transmission systems.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure.
• Availability to work weekends and overnight shifts.
• Familiarity with Media Pulse or ScheduALL, Verizon AVOC, LiveU and TVU-Media Hub is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot live video and audio feeds to keep on air during breaking-news events.
• Prepare in-studio live guests with control rooms.
• Record live news video feeds from around the world with internal departments.
• Support transmission operations with satellite, media, field crews, and control room staff.
