Job summary

Stanford University’s Cecil H. Green Library seeks a Weekend Library Specialist to provide frontline customer service, assist with circulation, and support the Media Center and catalog operations.

The role is 20 hours per week, Friday through Sunday, with a 50% schedule and overtime during intersessions. As part of the Circulation team, you will help patrons locate materials, process checkouts and returns, assist with registration, and handle basic building duties while maintaining a welcoming,

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree plus one year in an academic library.
• Experience interacting with patrons.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Staff public service desks and assist library users with catalog navigation.
• Process routine circulation transactions and issue borrowing cards.
• Assist with visitor registration and bag inspections as needed.
• Support Media Center and digitization projects when assigned.
• Perform shelving, inventory, and shelf maintenance tasks.
